The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) registered Thursday a new case of the deadly coronavirus after a Qatari man was diagnosed with flu.

The 61-year-old man was diagnosed in the national center for flu, the SCH said in a press statement.

The Qatari man also suffers from chronic diseases, the SCH statement added. It said the patient now receives treatment and his health condition is stable.

The statement noted that the epidemiological investigation procedures showed that the patient did not travel outside the country during the two weeks prior to the onset of symptoms and he has not been subjected to socialize with a confirmed case.

All the patient’s family members and others were checked up and the initial results were negative, the statement said.
